The 2012 Heritage Hill Threshing Show held August 17, 18 & 19 is now history. The weather was excellent with moderate temperatures and low dew points which made the show all the more enjoyable. The annual Threshing Show features tractor displays of every make and model. The McCormick-Deering Building and the new Gas Engine Building are full of gas engine displays as well. The Threshing Show is well attended each year by various spectators, exhibitors, vendors, active members and other guests. Many new projects recently completed at Heritage Hill are available for everyone to enjoy, including the recently renovated Hagen House and a new Pole Building for feature tractor exhibitors. The Thresher's Kitchen opens at 7:00 am each morning serving a hearty pancake and sausage breakfast. Throughout the day a variety of food is available including pies, hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst, and other delicious foods. The tractor parade is held each day at 1:30 pm starting with the past feature tractors. Feature tractors are next in the parade. Many other tractor makes including Allis Chalmers, Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline, White, Rumely Oil Pull, Cockshutt, Massey-Harris and Ford, to name a few, for all to enjoy. Threshing machine demonstrations held throughout the weekend are enjoyed by the many guests as they recalled good memories of the past. A corn sheller is set up to shell corn stored in the 1,000 bushel corn crib. The Knight Sawmill operates periodically throughout the weekend producing rough cut lumber. A shingle mill also operates producing wood-burned stenciled commemorative souvenir shingles. New in 2008 and to be continued into the future is the Antique and modified Tractor Pull held Friday night and the Garden Tractor Pull held Saturday night. Both events are well attended. Primitive camping is available at Heritage Hill. Make plans now to attend the 2013 Heritage Hill Threshing Show.
