The 2009 Heritage Hill Threshing Show held August 21, 22 & 23 is now history. Leader Tractor was the feature tractor with many restored Leader tractors on display. Stickney Gas Engines were also featured in 2009. The Threshing Show was well attended and by various spectators, exhibitors, vendors, active members and other guests. Many new projects recently completed at Heritage Hill were available for everyone to enjoy. The Thresher's Kitchen opened at 7:00 am each morning serving a hearty pancake and sausage breakfast. Throughout the day a variety of food was available including pies, hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst, and other delicious foods. Many antique gas engines were on display, including a wide array of Stickney Engines that were featured in 2009. Heritage Hill was honored to have a 20 horsepower Stickney, owned by Charles Inman from Havre, Montana. The tractor parade was held each day at 1:30 pm starting with the past feature tractors. Leader tractors, and other lesser known tractors, were next in the parade. Many other tractor makes including Allis Chalmers, Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline, White, Rumely Oil Pull, Cockshutt, Massey-Harris, to name a few, followed the parade. The weather was great. Threshing machine demonstrations held throughout the weekend were enjoyed by the many guests as they recalled good memories of the past. New in 2008 and continued in 2009 was the Antique Tractor Pull held Friday night and the Garden Tractor Pull held Saturday night. Both events were well attended. Primitive camping is at Heritage Hill.

The Emmy Goes To...

Exciting events continue to develop at Heritage Hill and the membership continues to grow. In October of 2004, Heritage Hill became part of a movie filmed in the Montevideo area. Will Weaver authored a novel titled, A Gravestone Made of Wheat. After reading the novel, movie director Ali Selim was inspired to write a script and produce a movie now titled, Sweet Land. Part of the movie was filmed in the 1920's period that involved a threshing scene. The movie producers called upon Heritage Hill members to fire the steam engine and belt-up the threshing machine for the grain harvest segment of the movie. Many members of MVAFPMA had the opportunity to participate as extras in the movie production.

Offical Site of the movie:   Sweet Land.
