School House
This building was the former school house that was called Rural School House Number 85 in Swift County. It was also commonly called the Borgan School as they were the closest farm to the school.
Each rural school district was built on a two-acre plot of land established by the federal government and they ranged from two to four miles apart to give residents access to a school near by. School districts had at times a number of students ranging from about 20 to 30. More recently, the building was used by the West Bank Township for their annual meeting. |
